Frequently Asked Questions

When do we take our child to dinner on Sunday?

You may take your child to dinner on Sunday after you register or before your child is settled into the dorm. However, you must have your child back to Yost for his/her first session on Sunday evening. If you take your child to dinner after their ice session, you must first check them out with their hockey counselor and then make sure they return to the dormitory no earlier than 7:45 pm. There will be no food service offered in the Residence Halls on Sunday. Food runs will be available in the residence hall daily after 8pm.

You will register at Yost Arena.

Your child will have dryland training outside, weather permitting. Whatever type of roller blades he/she has will be fine. If your child does not have roller blades, he/she will wear tennis shoes.

Does my child need to bring inline hockey gear?

Your child does not need to bring specific items of inline hockey gear. They will be asked to wear their hockey helmet and gloves during training. No additional equipment is needed. ** Goalies do not need to bring inline hockey pads – they will use their hockey blocker and catch glove.

How many campers in a room?

There are two campers in a room. Advanced reservations for occupancy are not allowed and we advise those campers who would like to room together, to register at the same time.

The amount of money is up to each parent. Only a small amount is suggested. Michigan Hockey t-shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces, etc. may be purchased at Yost Arena during registration or on the last day of camp, therefore it is not necessary to leave money for souvenirs. Some campers do purchase pizzas during their stay and others only spend a small amount on additional food. If your child brings extra money to camp, the Red Berenson Hockey Camp and the Summer Camps of Champions are not responsible if it is lost or stolen. Extra money should be kept in the dormitory.
