Red Berenson's Michigan Hockey Camp
Off - Ice Activities

Michigan Hockey Camps offer three types of off-ice activities:
  • Chalk Talk
  • Video Sessions
  • Dryland Training

Chalk Talk

Our chalk talk sessions provide what we feel, is the overriding attitude instilled in our campers regarding: work habits, living habits (nutrition, conditioning, alcohol, drugs and tobacco), and having fun … playing hockey should be fun! Also included are sessions regarding: the recruiting process, equipment, and an athletic campus tour.

Video Sessions

Our video sessions are used to reinforce what we are teaching on the ice. We show videos on stickhandling, passing, and shooting, as well as Michigan Hockey hi-lite tapes and game film.

Dryland Training

Our dryland training provides our campers an opportunity to work on sport-specific skills. These include, but are not limited to: the use of shooting boards to practice shooting, playing soccer, lacrosse, and roller hockey to work on team-work and coordination, and the Michigan Hockey "Conditioning Experience" - where kids can learn what the Michigan Hockey team does for training before hitting the ice at the beginning of the school year.
